Before, it might be considered as anti-social to just stay put at home. However, 2020 is currently proving that it’s a way of showing commendable citizenship and harmonious cooperation for the greater good.

While being cooped up at home may sound like a bore (sorry, introverts!), it can actually be just as fun as a night out with friends if you just be a little creative. With platforms such as Skype, Zoom, Google Hangouts, and many more, we’re all connected more than ever; meaning it’s still possible to have a nightcap with the gang—the only difference is that you do it at the comforts of your respective houses.

Why not, right? Catching up with your amigos online over drinks may be the newest trend right now. You can even play some online drinking games to make your night a little livelier, and you’ll be surprised how amusing they can be. Try these for starters:

Red, Black, High, Low
Requirement: Playing Cards

The rules of this online drinking game are pretty simple. One person will be in charge of holding the deck. One by one (him/herself included), he/she will ask the players “red, black, high, low?”. Player has to guess the color of the card (red if diamonds or hearts / black if spades or clubs) and if it’s high (8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King) or low (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7).

If you get it right, the next player has to carry the shots of the correct answers. If you get it wrong, you have to take a shot depending on the number of wrong answers.

Example:

  • You guess red, high. The dealer flips 4 of clubs. You get both wrong. You take 2 shots.
  • Next player guesses red, low. The dealer flips 9 of diamonds. He/she gets 1 answer right, 1 answer wrong. He/she takes 1 shot and reserves another shot for the next player.
  • Next player guesses black, low. The dealer flips Jack of hearts. He/she gets both wrong. He/she takes 2 shots AND another shot that the previous player reserved for getting the right answer.

Category Game
Requirement: Sharp Memory

No cards are required for this game. What you’ll need, instead, is a sharp memory. Choose amongst yourself who will start the online drinking game and oversee coming up with a category. After he/she has chosen, players (clockwise) will now say words relating to the category.

Simple? Not quite! 1. Players must only take 5 seconds to answer. 2. Players cannot repeat answers. Those who fail will have to take a shot and be in charge of coming up with the next category.

Example:

  • Player 1 decides the category would be "positions you can do in bed". He starts with “Cowgirl”
  • Player 2 says “Reverse cowgirl”
  • Player 3 says “Missionary”
  • Player 4 says “Batman”. Player 4 takes a shot because there is no such thing (or it’s not known by all). Player 4 now comes up with another category and starts the next round.

Truth or Dress
Requirements: Playing Card and a lot of props

This is your typical Truth or Dare game, but it involves dressing up (instead of stripping).

Nominate a dealer among you. Like the ‘Red, Black, High, Low’ game, each player must decide if the card is red or black (just that; don't mind the numbers). If he/she gets it right, he/she is safe. If the answer is wrong, he/she must pick between truth or dress.

The dress part will be decided by the other players. If they said, “Put on some bad makeup!”, “Put on a bra on your head!”, or anything a player can dress up with, he/she must oblige. After all the cards have been set, players must take a group photo to commemorate an ugly but fun night.

*Why dress up? Because stripping is more fun outside! If you’re inside the house, the possibility of dressing up all kinds of stuff is endless. Plus, you get to have a group photo afterward, which will probably be embarrassing. Imagine having a clown face with horrible clothes!

Straight Face Challenge
Requirement: lots of memes

In need of a night filled with laughter? This game might do it for you and your crew. Before starting, make sure you compile the funniest memes or videos that you think will make your friends crack—or burst to be specific. Because while reading the meme or watching the video, the other players must have their mouth filled with water. To make things hard, everyone must take a shot before starting the round since getting tipsy makes everything seem funnier.

The player who made the other player/s laugh gets a point. The person with the highest point at the end of the game can dare everyone to do one thing. This online drinking game is best when everybody is already buzzed.

Example:

  • Everyone must take a shot
  • Player 1 readies the meme or video, while the other players put water in their mouth
  • Player 1 sends the link to the meme or video, and everybody reads or watches it together
  • If no one laughs, no point is given to Player 1. If even just one person laughs, Player 1 gets a point
  • Everyone must take a shot again to start the round
  • This time, Player 2 readies the meme or video, while the other players put water in their mouth
  • Player 2 sends the link to the meme or video, and everybody reads or watches it together
  • If no one laughs, no point is given to Player 2. If even just one person laughs, Player 2 gets a point
  • The rounds go on until able, and the winner with the highest point can dare the other players to do one thing

Play at your own risk! Don’t blame us if your friends took a screenshot of you wasted!
