But, if you only have the weekend off, we created this 2-day itinerary in Phuket where you can experience the best activities that will still showcase the undeniable beauty of the island.
Day 1
It only takes 1 and a half hours to go from Bangkok to Phuket . However, wherever you’re flying from, you should maximize the weekend by taking an early flight and a late departure. That way, you can do a lot in a short amount of time.
Choosing Between Nai Yang Beach vs Kata Noi Beach
Phuket is the largest island in Thailand with over 30 smaller islets composing its entire geography. There are countless beaches you could go to offering a different atmosphere for different occasions, but we suggest going to either Nai Yang Beach or Kata Noi Beach.
Nai Yang Beach is only a few minutes away from the airport, but you may be surprised it's not frequented by many. Far from highly-commercialized areas like Patong Beach, this underrated stretch poses impeccable solitude to those seeking a vacation filled with peaceful leisure and authentic local nourishment.
There are a few resorts in this undisturbed area, but The Slate is a formidable accommodation option that has a good balance of rest and recreation with all its natural and exciting amenities.

Be sure to catch the sunset at Joe’s Downstairs afterward. This posh restaurant offers an exquisite view perfect for sunset watching as you dine. You can see the orange sky transform into an alluring pinkish hue splendidly reflected on Patong Bay.
They serve a fusion cuisine that can satisfy anyone’s palate. Some dishes worth noting are Foie Gras “Shu Mei” with Toasted Pistachios and Tamarind/Plum Sauce, Sautéed Broccolini with Lemon, Parmesan and Essence of Truffle, and Grilled Certified Wagyu Beef ‘Yakitori’ and Sesame Eggplant. Alternatively, you can go on a cruise trip at HYPE Boat Club first. It’s a unique Phuket concept where you can immerse yourself in a beach club at sea. They offer a complete experience from fine dining to snorkeling to partying until sunset.
They accept bookings daily and runs a program from 11:30 AM to 6:30 PM. If you want to try this one-of-a-kind leisure trip, you have to book at least one day in advance. Rate is THB 2500/pax, but it's THB 3300/pax if you want to include a daybed.

Nightlife
One of the busiest (if not the busiest) streets in Bangkok notorious for blackouts and bad decisions is Bangla Road. Here, you can find all sorts of entertainment—and we mean everything.

No truer words have ever been said. This nightclub in Phuket should definitely not be missed out on because DJ Mag, a reputable publication for EDMs with over 1 million readers, crowned Illuzion among their "Top 100 clubs" worldwide for 3 consecutive years (#81 in 2017, #48 in 2018, and #33 in 2019).
Their outstanding sound and LED system, despite the massive carrying capacity of 5000 standing people with 300 VIP tables, are testaments to this achievement. And to take things to a god-tier level, they also constantly invite international DJs and singers to rock the house such as Martin Garrix, Tiesto, Marshmello, Quintino, Tyga, Jason Derulo, and many more. Don't worry. We're freaking out, too.
Unofficially labeled as the #1 Hip Hop nightclub in Phuket, Sugar makes itself the center of attraction with its groovy beats and soulful sounds. In terms of serving the best DJ events in town under the same genre, they are virtually second to none. Doors open 10 PM and there are no cover charges.
Paradise Beach Club
If you chance upon Paradise Beach Club Moon Festival, consider yourself lucky! This festival only happens 4-5 times a month because they only throw a party on nights there is a new, half, or full moon.
On the rare times that they do, expect it to be massive with international DJ lineups, electrifying fire shows, and an ocean-volume of booze! You need to buy tickets to be a part of this cool celebration.
Simon Cabaret
You can rave at any bars and clubs anywhere, but you can only catch a show like Simon Cabaret in Phuket. This theater with over 600 seating capacity will give you a night you won’t forget with showstopping performances, musical renditions, and comedy acts from voluptuous ladyboys.
They perform 6 PM, 7:30 PM, and 9 PM daily, but you have to reserve a seat to revel in this unique nightlife production.
Day 2
Island Hop to Phuket’s Best-Kept Secret
You need to get up early for this one because Banana Beach is quite challenging to locate as it is nestled between Bang Tao and Nai Thon Beaches.
It’s not called a secret beach for nothing. You need to trek before you can go there, but, once you arrive, a treasure will reward you in forms of blue water and white sands. This hidden oasis will charm you with its untapped and serene landscape—isolated and away from the clamor of busy tourists. We recommend that you eat breakfast at your hotel before going to Banana Beach, but, if ever you feel famished, there is a single restaurant by the shore that serves freshly-caught seafood.
After that, sit underneath the palm tree and soak up the sun as you bask in this tropical paradise.
