Yen Akat Road is one of the most peaceful neighborhoods in Bangkok nestled with both residential and commercial spaces in a lavish green canopy.

You can find a variety of options from bakeries to cafes to bars to fine dining restaurants– you name it! Despite its quiet streets, you'll be surprised how it comes alive when filled with constant conversations and happy faces. Among these choices, we stumbled upon a gem that is worth unearthing even all the way from Sukhumvit. It's called Cagette Canteen & Deli.

Cagette Canteen & Deli is a delicatessen, delivery service, and French restaurant in Bangkok specializing in imported seafood, cold cuts, and cheeses. It's a 5-story building (with the parking lot on the ground floor and Cactus Bar occupying the 4th and 5th floors) that is suitable for any occasion.

On the 2nd floor, you will find the main restaurant in rustic, wooden furnish with ample spaces beautifully lit by its large glass window; letting you peer in the area's lush tranquility. It can accommodate up to 50 pax inside its humble abode and outside its balcony in total.

This is where Cagette Canteen & Deli usually holds their themed nights: Thursday Raclette Night, Seafood Sunday Brunch, and more. You would have to reserve in advance because slots get filled up very quickly mostly by French people themselves – a testament to its authenticity and undeniable standards.

Going one floor up, they have a wine cellar that doubles as a function room catering up to 20 pax. Here, you have easy access to their wide arsenal of bottles that you can purchase and enjoy as you feast on traditional French cuisine.

Despite its quaint interior and premium offerings, you'll be surprised by the price range of Cagette Canteen & Deli's menu. It's reasonable, yet it doesn't compromise on quality. In fact, you can get set courses at 490 THB and 590 THB respectively!

For the mains, the Steak Tartare would definitely be the highlight. Each bite into this tender meat gives a burst of complex flavors; mixing savory and acidity into an astounding flavor that won't satisfy your taste buds until you finish the whole meal. The yolk gives it extra creaminess, which makes it a perfect match for the crispy, homemade fries.

For dessert, there are five choices to choose from: Creme Brulee, Chocolate Mousse, Tart of the Day, Chocolate “Choux”, and Ice Creams & Sorbets. Whatever you choose, it's bound to give your meal a nice, sweet ending that it deserves.

If you want to order something else, they have an in-house bar where you can pick your poison. Juices, beers, wines, and cocktails are available, as well.
